In heartbreaking news last night, it was reported that Louis Tomlinson's mom had died at 42, after battling leukemia. In a statement made by the family, they announced that in the early hours of Wednesday, December 7, Johannah passed away after being diagnosed with an aggressive kind of leukemia early this year. Leukemia is the cancer of the body's blood-forming tissues—including the bone marrow and lymphatic system.

His One Direction mates sent their condolences and heartfelt messages not long after news broke.

With lyrics like, "Oh until it's all been said / It's not over until your dying breath / So what do you want them to say when you're gone? / That you gave up or that you kept going on? / What do you do when a chapter ends? / Do you close the book and never read it again? / Where do you go when your story's done? / You can be who you want or you'll become / It it all goes wrong / Darling just hold on / The sun goes down and it comes back up / The world still turns no matter what" we can't help but feel this is somehow a tribute to his mum.

Our hearts are breaking for you, Tommo, in this time of grief. Our thoughts and prayers to the family.
