From starting their relationship as co-housemates in Pinoy Big Brother to officially dating each other after exiting the show, Lou Yanong and Andre Brouillette have gained the sympathy and admiration of fans for their sweet and supportive relationship—even after the two have decided to part ways. On January 28, 2021, Andre took to Instagram to officially announce their breakup and thanked their fans for "being so supportive to us along the way."
While he did not mention a particular reason for the split, Andre made it clear that it was an amicable breakup and the two remain supportive of each other in their respective journeys. "The truth is we care for each other and always will. She is such a big part of my life, and I am ultimately so thankful to God to have her in my life," Andre wrote in a now-removed Instagram post.
Lou Yanong opens up about their breakup
In her most recent TV guesting, however, Lou finally opened up about the reason for her split with Andre. In an interview on Magandang Buhay, Lou clarified that she had no regrets when it came to their relationship and that the primary reason for their breakup was the long distance. "Yung pinaka main reason lang po talaga is distance," Lou says. "Sobrang malambing kami sa isa't isa. Ngayon kung wala yung factor na 'yon, sobrang hirap po." ICYDK, Andre flew back to his hometown in Hawaii in 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Lou, on the other hand, is based here in the Philippines.
She also shares that there were no trust issues in the relationship, and that the breakup was necessary so they could give each other some space for themselves. "Ano talaga siya... Kailangan din talaga, just to know ourselves more and grow apart, sadly."
Ultimately, though, Lou assures that she still cares about Andre, and even though they don't get to talk now, Lou thinks that Andre still cares for her as well.
Andre Brouillette's dating rumors
Recently, dating rumors between Andre and Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo started popping up after being spotted together in the US. Both parties, however, have clarified that they are just friends and workmates. Andre is currently a talent under Empire, which is owned by beauty queen mentor and co-founder of Aces and Queens, Jonas Gaffud.
