Despite long-standing network wars and a seemingly cutthroat environment, the local entertainment industry is smaller than we think. Several of our favorite celebrities actually share the same alma mater and can probably relate with each other in terms of their respective college cultures. Below, we list down stars who went to the same colleges:
Clara Benin and Gabbi Garcia
Homegrown singer-songwriter Clara Benin and actress-singer Gabbi Garcia both went to MINT College. Clara took up Music Business Production. Gabbi, on the other hand, took up Business Management.
Hip-hop artist Abra, whose real name is Raymond Abracosa, took up Management at the University of Asia and the Pacific. TV host and YouTube star Alex Gonzaga also went to the same school and took up Child Development and Education.
Aside from their crowns, beauty queens Janine Tugonon and Miriam Quiambao have more things in common with each other: They both attended University of Sto. Tomas. Janine, who was the Miss Universe 2012 first runner-up, graduated with a degree in Pharmacy while Miriam, who was the Miss Universe 1999 first runner-up, took up Physical Therapy.
Giselle Sanchez, Tuesday Vargas, and Ramon Bautista
Many may associate these three with being comedians in the local entertainment scene, but they're also Iskolar ng Bayan. Giselle graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Mass Communication while Tuesday and Ramon both took up BA Film and Audiovisual Communication.
Both comedians are graduates of Far Eastern University. Ai ai took up Mass Communication while Vice Ganda was an aspiring lawyer and took up Political Science.
Celebrity couple Kean Cipriano and Chynna Hortaleza both attended University of Sto. Tomas. The Callalily frontman was a Commerce major before he dropped out to pursue a career in music. The actress and TV host, on the other hand, majored in Communication Arts.
Another celebrity pairing who share the same alma mater are musicians Karylle and Yael. The husband and wife "bleed blue" as both graduated from Ateneo de Manila University just a few years apart. Karylle has a degree in BS Communications Technology Management while Yael took up English Literature.
The AlDub couple are actually both Green Archers, even though they went to different campuses.
