Reel-to-real-life sweethearts Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil have been in the limelight for quite some time now, making them almost *immune* to controversies. But that doesn’t mean they’re already safe from the prying eyes of many, of course! Case in point: Breakup rumors circulated shortly after Liza signed with James Reid’s music label Careless, with the actress seemingly forgoing her years-long showbiz team-up with her beau.
"Quen is very supportive of what I do. He knows every step of what I am doing,” she says in an interview, directly denying breakup speculations. ICYMI, she’s currently taking up lessons to further develop her craft, which explains her recent trip to LA.

"As a matter of fact, we are video calling each other every day when I was in L.A. It's just that I don't wanna give in to what people are demanding from me because they are demanding me to screen capture our video calls and everything. If we are comfortable and confident with each other, there's no need to prove to anyone else,” she pointed out.
ICYMI, Quen is currently in Spain with his family, a trip that Liza wasn’t a part of due to a conflict of schedule. Liza says she’s *aware* that some people are making a big deal out of it. "I heard... Like, people are speculating that Quen and I broke up just because we weren't together on the trip.
"Just to clarify, no [we didn't break up], we're super good. It just so happened na at the same time as all the events I had to do in the States, his tita from Spain was also about to get married," Liza explained.
It's just really a matter of priorities for both of them. "I was supposed to be in that wedding but I don't want to miss up all these opportunities because it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I'm not getting any younger."
She says Quen fully ~supports~ her new career move, letting her do things in her own way. "If I really wanna make it out in Hollywood, I'm all about taking it slow and doing it the right way so I just don't wanna go rushing into auditioning, accepting projects just for the sake of doing something.
"I really want to develop my craft, take lessons, become comfortable and a little more independent. That's exactly what we are doing.”
We're rooting for you, Liza!
