Leon Barretto has received a *public* apology from his estranged dad, Dennis Padilla, on Instagram.

ICYDK, the 19-year-old content creator recently penned a letter to his dad over the weekend in response to his dad's now-deleted cryptic posts about not receiving any greetings from the Barretto siblings on Father's Day.

"For the past ten years, we have been trying so hard to slowly rebuild the bridge you continuously burn every time you talk about our private matters in your press cons, interviews, and social media.

"Papa, why does it seem like you enjoy hurting your kids in public? Why do you keep posting cryptic posts about us and allow people to bash us on your own Instagram page? Do you think it does not pain all of us to not feel protected by our own father?

"It’s not that we don’t want to talk to you, but the few times that we do to resolve the issues, you communicate by shouting, cursing, and using hurtful words that traumatize us," part of Leon's letter said.

Leon then asked his dad if "public sympathy" is more important to him than his own children. He also expressed frustration over Dennis' actions' impact on his sisters Julia and Claudia.

Hours later, Dennis posted an old picture of him and Leon in response to his son's post with the caption: "I am sorry Leon... Miss ko lang kayo... God bless you more! Just want to know what false narrative I said in public? I [have] been reaching out to all of you for 15 years in private...."

He followed it up with a handwritten note that read: "To be your father is the greatest honor I have received. It allowed me to touch the grace of God even for a moment and to see my love made flesh. I have regretfully made mistakes in my life. I may not have been there for you, but I always had you in my heart."

He also expressed regret over the moments he "let slip by" due to their misunderstandings. "Sometimes in life, there are things that we will never understand why [they] happened. In the end, I regret all the moments I let slip by. I regret all the times I hid my feelings from you."

Ending his letter, he noted that he would love to spend more time with his son.

"If I could have but one wish, I would love to spend some time with you. After all, there is not much more to life than that."

As of this writing, neither Leon nor his sisters have posted a response to Dennis' latest Instagram post.
