People on social media can be brutal: They just say whatever they want to say because they're ~hiding behind their screens~, no? In a series of Instagram Stories posted in February, 23-year-old Leila Alcasid addressed a rude comment about her relationship with 28-year-old musician Mito Fabie (also known as Curtismith).
She shared a screenshot of the comment, as reported by PEP, which reads: "Nakakapanghinayang bata pa pero laspag na ng jowa tsk." ICYMI, laspag in Filipino essentially means "worn-out" or "overused." Why anyone would say something THIS HORRIBLE is beyond me!
Leila, who was super chill as always, wrote: "I don't want to mind comments but this is so rude. I'm in a happy loving relationship with a very respectful person and would prefer we not be referred to this way. Thank you."
"Only saying this once: stop commenting on my pics [with] my bf saying 'ang bata pa' [and] other nosy comments. I'm turning 24 this year man! D*mn," she added. "Love to everyone giving support in my DMs and also love to the lurky haters hehe. Being a neg is tiring! Try kindness! Good night!"
News of Leila and Mito's relationship first broke out in early 2019. That same year, Leila's dad Ogie Alcasid talked about meeting Mito for the first time and treating Leila like an adult, saying: "Hindi na siya bata. Ine-encourage ko siya na lahat ng responsibilidad na sana magampanan niya ay gawin na niya tulad ng pagbabayad ng bills. May sarili siyang checkbook. Hindi na puwedeng ako lahat." He would tell her: "Adult ka na—alam mo na ang tama at mali. Kung magkamali ka, sige, magkamali ka para matuto."
In a vlog from September 2019, we saw how much Leila's mom Michelle van Eimeren adored her BF and kept saying: "Love Mito; he's family. I want to keep him. I love Mito. I love Mito. Sorry, did I say that too much? Love you, Mito."
The couple also attended the first ABS-CBN Ball together!
Keep spreading love and kindness, Leila!
