The play started at exactly 8pm. The set was breathtaking and pleasing to the eye. Colorful costumes and well-made props and backdrops were seen onstage. I especially liked the part when the pumpkin was transformed into a grand carriage.
The cast was superb. Even if the tiny Lea Salonga was among those Caucasian actors, she was still the star for the night. Her Step Sisters were ultimately hilarious, while the actress who played the Fairy Godmother fit her role very well. The Prince, though was a bit too tall for Lea, complemented Lea as Cinderella and there were sparks all over most especially the scene when they were dancing and singing in the garden before the clock struck 12.
Overall, the play was magical. It would remind you of childhood memories that brought our favorite storybook to life onstage.
