ICYMI: Miss Universe Philippines released the list of official delegates for the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant on Monday, July 19. Among the list are familiar faces and fresh contenders, including a fan-favorite hopeful who has previously expressed interest in joining the pageant: Pinoy Big Brother alum and actress Kisses Delavin.
The 22-year-old actress and recording artist, who was listed using her real name Kirsten Danielle Delavin, once said that it was her "childhood dream" to compete in a major pageant, and now she's making it a reality. Kisses is among the top 100 delegates who will be competing to enter the coronation night of the pageant.
Kisses is being trained by renowned beauty pageant boot camp Aces and Queens, the same camp that helped produce titleholders such as Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa.
After releasing a teaser of Kisses joining the camp, Aces and Queens officially released a profile of the actress, introducing her as a bibliophile and an award-winning actress. Prior to Miss U, Kisses' pageant experience includes winning Miss Teen Masbate back in 2013 and Miss Kaogma in 2016.
Aside from Kisses, other familiar aspiring beauty queens are also included in the roster. Asia's Next Top Model winner and hellow Aces and Queens talent Maureen Wroblewitz is also among the candidates, as well as inspiring content creator and advocate Ayn Bernos.
Miss Universe Philippines National Director Shamcey Supsup Lee shared that theme of the pageant this year is INSPIRE YOU.” "A Miss Universe Philippines is a phenomenal woman because she has the ability to inspire others. This year, the three pillars are Roots, Transformations, and Charity," says the official statement on Miss Universe Philippines' official Facebook page. This year, the organization also removed the minimum height requirement from the qualifications needed to enter.
The 100 chosen delegates from all over the country will undergo a series of challenges until they are narrowed down to 30 candidates. The Top 30 will then be participating in the coronation night on September 25. The candidate who will be crowned the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 will follow in the footsteps of Rabiya Mateo in representing the Philippines on the global stage of the Miss Universe beauty pageant.
