On Monday, January 4, his agency Gold Medalist Entertainment confirmed that he has turned down the role for Netflix's upcoming original series Finger, one of the casting offers he received that would have him play "a famous interior designer that is also a sociopathic murderer." The next day, however, his chosen project following the massive success of It's Okay to Not Be Okay has finally been revealed: According to Soompi, the actor is set to star in That Night, a Korean remake of the British TV drama Criminal Justice.

For the drama, which tells the story of two men whose lives become entangled because of a murder case, Soo Hyun will be teaming up with fellow lead actor Cha Seung Won, who is best known for his popular dramas including The Greatest Love (2011), You're All Surrounded (2014), and A Korean Odyssey (2018).

Soo Hyun will play the role of Kim Hyun Soo, an ordinary college student who unexpectedly becomes the key suspect of a murder case. Seung Won, on the other hand, has been cast as lawyer Shin Joong Han, who—despite barely passing the bar exam—will be the only person who will help him prove his innocence. We already can't wait for this team-up!

That Night is slated to begin filming in the first half of 2021 and premiere hopefully before the year ends. It will be written by Kwon Soon Kyu  (Warrior Baek Dong Soo, The Royal Gambler) and directed by Lee Myung Woo (The Fiery Priest, Punch).
