Katy Perry Says Sorry to Taylor Swift and Says She Forgives Her

Is this finally the end to the Katy Perry-Taylor Swift saga?

It all started with Taylor Swift's cover interview with Rolling Stone back in 2015. Talking about one of the angriest songs on her 1989 record, people assumed she was referring to Katy Perry when she spoke about who "Bad Blood" was about. She tells the magazine, "For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'" She would recount how the person did something horrible, which made her think that they were enemies more than friends. While she never confirmed or denied that it was about Katy, the Witness singer shared her side of the story when she was a guest on James Corden's Carpool Karaoke last month.

And just this weekend, on the release of Katy's latest album—in what seems almost like a calculated move—Taylor's whole discography was suddenly back on streaming sites and is reportedly outperforming Katy's songs (on US Spotify, at least). Fans are calling out Taylor's shady move, but a source says that the move to return her music to the streaming service was to celebrate her Record Industry Association of America milestone (selling more than 100 million song units, beating Katy, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, and Drake) and not to throw any shade at her rumored rival.

But in an interesting turn of events, Katy seems eager to finally end this feud after releasing Witness. In an interview with Arianna Huffington for The Thrive Global Podcast, Katy says she's ready to let it go. She says, "I forgive her and I'm sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her." She continues to explain that there are much bigger problems in the world and adds, "And I love her, and I want the best for her. And I think she's a fantastic songwriter, and I think that, you know, if we, both her and I, can be representatives of strong women that come together despite their differences, I think the whole world is going to go like, 'Yeah, well we can do this.' I don't know. Like maybe I don't agree with everything she does and she doesn't agree with everything I do, but I just really truly want to come together in a place of love and forgiveness and understanding and compassion." She then ended her answer breaking out in song. A few lines from Frozen's "Let It Go," of course.

Her parting words on the issue, "There's a lot of other things out there in the world that people need to be focused on, and I truly, like, God bless her on her journey. God bless her. Honestly."

Here's hoping that this is truly the end and that there will no longer be any bad blood between these two.

PRIMO.

First. Pixie dust and paper cuts – these are the first things Wendy knew about Peter Pan. Aurora first met Prince Philip when she was sixteen. Learning how to ride a bike was also a first while I was growing up, but you are probably the first of too many. The first collection of dust and stars; maybe Luna will try to ask, who was your first? I might answer and tell her that it was you.

The first of too many stars in the sky. You are the first of too many fallen leaves during fall – and you will be the most anticipated snowflake as winter comes. A dark path that you can’t see without any light, hence, you were once the moon and there are the stars that shine so bright at night. Are we too early? Or we just really want to be ahead of time? Even in a glimpse, I would like to see the two of us connect as if we can reach the sky. There are other parts of the heavens you have never saw and other oceans you haven’t laid your feet onto – but the constellations will always wait for you. Close your eyes, love, close your eyes. Start counting backward: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Count backward until you see the twinkling lights that will guide you to the right path. To the right satellite; to the right person. A first.

There are many firsts – first love, first heartbreak, first sport you played, the first thing you do in the morning, the first thing you remember about the person in front of you. There are a lot. It’s actually up to us how we will consider something as a first. So, Primo, you are already a first of too many.
