We know the basics about rising star Julia Barretto. She is the daughter of actors Dennis Padilla and Marjorie Barretto, and the niece of Gretchen and Claudine Barretto. Julia is also a sister to fashion blogger Dani and an ate to younger siblings Claudia and Leon.
After being launched as part of Star Magic Circle 2013, Julia caught the eye of many and bagged TV show roles and endorsements from big brands like Palmolive and SM Accessories. But did you know that she actually began her acting career in 2007?
2007
Julia first appeared in ABS-CBN's TV drama Walang Kapalit, which starred her aunt Claudine alongside Piolo Pascual. She played the younger version of Claudine’s character Melanie, opposite Piolo Pascual's younger self played by Candy Cutie Sam Concepcion.

She also got a role in the TV drama Kokey where she played Anna Kalugdan, one of alien Kokey’s friends who helps him find the missing crystal, fix his spaceship, and defeat the evil Korokoy. Watch her sing with Joshua Cadelina below.
2008
Julia then appeared in the action TV drama Palos as Pamela Kiev. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any videos or GIFs of her stint in the show. But we found these really cute stills from the teleserye at Pinoy Exchange! She looks so little in the arms of actor Jake Cuenca, doesn't she?

2013
After being launched as part of Star Magic last year, Julia appeared in two episodes of Wansapanataym. One was in Bokbok: Ang Batang Mapanubok and the other was in Petra Paminta, where she played the starring role.

Her biggest break, however, was when she starred in Maalaala Mo Kaya's Father's Day special with James Blanco. In this episode, Julia played the role of a loving daughter whose world turns upside down when her father suffers from drug addiction.

2014
Julia is set to make her way to the hearts of thousands of televiewers this year after she bagged the lead role in the primtime drama Mirabella. Mirabella tells the story of a young girl with a cursed physical appearance. Julia will also have two love interests in the show to be portrayed by Enrique Gil and Sam Concepcion (her first leading man!).
