Jean Garcia was a proud mom who took her son Kotaro Shimizu to the star-studded GMA Thanksgiving Gala.

On July 31, 2022, the Kapuso star took to Instagram to show photos of her "date."

She wrote (published as is), "Ehem ehem, flex ko din lang po yung date ko sa GMA Thanksgiving Gala guys hihihiii @_kotaroshimizu thank you honey for being with me last night, this means a lot to me."

Filipino-Japanese Kotaro, 20, is Jean's son with a Japanese advertising executive, whom she met when she was still performing as a singer at a hotel in Japan.

The 52-year-old actress continued, "Thanks a million for always having my back. I love you son! Gwapo po ng anak ko di ba?!!! Proud mom here ????????"

Netizens quickly pointed out that Kotaro looks a lot like Kim Taehyung, popularly known by his stage name V, a member of K-Pop boy band BTS.
