It was in September 2022 when Markus Paterson confirmed his split with Janella Salvador through Instagram stories, stating that they have broken up "almost a year" ago and that their only priority is their son Jude. Since then, the two have established an effective co-parenting setup.
"We’re co-parenting nang maayos. Okay naman, wala namang problema,” she reveals. "Okay kami. We have a system naman. He borrows Jude when he’s free but he stays with me talaga.”

Despite the controversies surrounding their split, the actress reveals that she's *happy* being a mother to Jude. "It’s the best experience of my life so far. Happy ako, it’s nice to see... I have my two years old now and it’s nice to see that he’s growing to be the person that he’s turning out to be," she says, even sharing that they would often watch Darna episodes together.
"Hindi niya siguro nakikilala sa TV. Pero kapag Regina ang lumalabas, sasabihin niya, 'Mama!'"
