Many of today's top social media content creators are adored by fans for showing their real and raw personalities online. They're not one to shy away from sharing their daily lives--bloopers and all--whether it be through Instagram Stories or YouTube videos. But if you didn't know, some of your favorite internet influencers also have acting chops in them. Some have dabbled in showbiz and launched their acting careers already by appearing in local TV series and films.
Here are five influencers who appeared on TV shows and movies:
Long-time content creator Laureen Uy made her cinematic debut in the 2011 teleserye My Binondo Girl starring Kim Chiu and Xian Lim. She also appeared in the 2019 film I'm Ellenya L. starring Maris Racal and Inigo Pascual.
Aside from being a YouTube star, Jelai Andres is also an actress. Her acting stints include the 2019 comedy film Feelennial, the 2019 TV series One of the Baes, and the 2021 serye Owe My Love.
Before blowing up on YouTube, Ivana was actually a contestant on the GMA talent show Starstruck (She went by her real name, Mariam Al-Alawi, back then!). Her acting stints also include appearing on ABS-CBN's Ang Probinsiyano and Sino ang Maysala?: Mea Culpa.
Aside from being a YouTuber and singer, Donnalyn also acts. Her acting credits include roles in Talk Back and You're Dead, Bakit Lahat ng Gwapo may Boyfriend?, Cry No Fear, and Tililing.
Social media star Kimpoy Feliciano showed off his acting skills in the GMA seryes Inday Will Always Love You starring Barbie Forteza and Derrick Monasterio and TODA One I Love starring Kylie Padilla and Ruru Madrid.
