How to Take Good Care of Yourself According to Selena Gomez
It is no secret that Selena Gomez has been through a lot this year. She's been battling anxiety and depression brought about by her lupus diagnosis, which caused her to cancel her Revival Tour and take a short break.
But even though she's struggling, this beautiful lady never fails to inspire all of us. In another interview, she has emphasized again how important it is to listen to your body and soul—and take a rest if you need to. That's what she exactly did when she talked with Thrive Global, where she shared a few self-care tips we should totally do so we can keep our souls happy and healthy. (via TeenVogue.com)
So what's her self-care routine? Sel says that how she gets started in the morning is by drinking water, stretching, and taking a deep breath. She also shared that "staying healthy" in all aspects of her life and learning new things keep her energized.
As for her relationship with her phone, the singer revealed that she took 90 days off her mobile to rejuvenate. "I recently took 90 days off. During that time I did not have my cellphone. It was the most refreshing, calming, rejuvenating feeling," she says. "Now I rarely pick up my phone, and only limited people have access to me."
We think this totally makes sense since there are studies that point out how scrolling through your Instagram Feeds makes you mentally unhealthy, so it's good to stay disconnected for a short period of time—even just during the holiday season, right?
And, of course, we just could not not share this quote Sel shared which keeps her strong during rough times. It's something we can all live by when we feel like we're just not enough because of where we've come from.
