Kisses Delavin may be all grown up now that she's vying for the crown as this year's Miss Universe Philippines. But waaay before she stood under the spotlight, the 22-year-old actress and aspiring beauty queen was once a college freshman like many of us.
ICYDK, Kisses went to De La Salle University and took up Accountancy for a year and a half before pausing her studies to join Pinoy Big Brother and eventually pursue a career in showbiz. Despite a short stay in school, Kisses actually considers her college life in DLSU as one of her "happiest moments."Â
In an interview on Boy Abunda's YouTube channel, Kisses revealed what her life in La Salle was like, including how much her baon was and how she spent it. Born and raised in Masbate and with businesspeople for parents, Kisses learned how to handle and be smart with money at a young age. She also pointed out how different the spending habits are of people when in Manila, saying, "Here in Manila, you can just go to the mall and P1,000 is gone." It's a different case for Kisses, however, as seen on how she handles the P1,000-a-day allowance her parents used to giver her back in college.Â
A thousand pesos a day seems like a lot for many students, and even Kisses seems to think so. In fact, she shares that she's only ever spent around P100 of that amount, and that's already for the entire week. Her secret to spending very little? "I always eat at home," she shares.
Of course, you can't avoid hanging out with friends in college, and that means having to allot a certain portion of your allowance for it. Kisses, of course, is no exception, but she still tries to spend within reason. "Of course you have to consider your friends din, pero I always make sure I don't spend too much," she tells Tito Boy.
