Here's Why We Need to See Harry Potter and the #CursedChild Too
The first part of the eighth Harry Potter story, set 19 years later, already premiered on stage. And from the reactions we read on social media, here's the only thing we know: we have to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child too.
The first public preview of the play happened yesterday and fans are trying their best to "keep the secret," as always. So what do we do now? We read reviews of the lucky ones who got to see the play at the West End, of course.
According to The Telegraph, the story "contains enough twists to please the most knowledgable of fans" and now we can't stop thinking what those "twists" could be. Is it about the cursed child? Are they revealing new things about our favorite characters' backstories? UGH. Grant us the patience to deal with all these questions.
Time, on the other hand, was a bit rebellious and revealed a few spoilers they also got from comments online. *PROCEED WITH CAUTION BECAUSE THERE'S A SPOILER AHEAD* This probably tops our list: That a bad character is back. No! We don't have any idea who it is, though. We're just crossing our fingers that it's not Lord Voldemort. But if you want a lot of spoilers, be brave and visit Hypable, which author JK Rowling has already called out on Twitter for being "Wormtaily." We still don't know if they're true but if you don't want spoilers, just avoid them at all costs.
What we're just sure of right now is that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child didn't disappoint fans of the franchise. A standing ovation happened, as expected, and the lucky viewers described the first part as epic, perfect, and magical.
#CursedChild is fantastic - really funny, impressive, magic is perfectly executed. Doesn't feel restricted as a play. Cast is perfect— Maddie Campion (@diaryofamaddie) June 7, 2016
Huhu, bring the play here, JK!
