  1. Updated May 23, 5:10PM: According to Chief Constable Ian Hopkins, the attacker died in the arena. "We believe the attacker was carrying an improvised explosive device, which he detonated, causing this atrocity," he told CNN. Authorities are still trying to find out if the attacker, although he was alone during the incident, is part of a network.

  1. The bomb explosion, which the Greater Manchester Police's Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said they're treating as a possible terrorist attack, happened shortly after (at about 10:30PM Manchester time) the concert at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

Speaking with The Independent, 22-year-old Majid Khan who also attended the event said, "I and my sister, along with a lot of others were seeing Ariana Grande perform at Manchester Arena, and we were all exiting the venue when around 10.40-10,45pm-ish, a huge bomb-like bang went off that hugely panicked everyone and we were all trying to flee the arena.

"It was one bang and essentially everyone from the other side of the arena where the bang was heard from suddenly came running towards us as they were trying to exit Trinity Way and that was blocked so everyone was just running to any exit they could find as quickly as they could.

"Everyone was in a huge state of panic, calling each other as some had gone to the toilet whilst this had gone off, so it was just extremely disturbing for everyone there."

  1. Twenty-two people have already been confirmed dead while there are 59 others who were injured because of the incident. According to the local North West Ambulance service, 59 casualties from the location were taken to various hospitals and that they "treated a number of walking wounded on scene."
