The human mind is an incredible thing—until you need to remember a song you've nearly forgotten. Sometimes, it's easy business. You know, those times where you just need to search a bunch of lyrics. Then, there are times when all you can do is hum.

If we're being fully honest, we've tried to search for songs by typing how a beat sounds phonetically. And, if you've been as desperate as we've been, then you would know that Google just doesn't respond to the search terms "mm mm mm mmm ooh" in the same way as it would with full-on words. (Understandably.)

Our models are trained to identify songs based on a variety of sources, including humans singing, whistling, or humming, as well as studio recordings."
