Francine Diaz's home is just like her—humble, endearing, and will, for sure, only get better. On Karen Davila's YouTube channel, the 18-year-old star gave viewers a first look into the house that she and her family have been living in for a little over a year now.
For anyone looking for inspo on how to make the most out of small, homey spaces, you best look to the Diaz household. It's also quite admirable how Francine has went from chasing auditions and casting calls, to being one of the most booked and blessed stars today, and this Cavite property is only proof of how much she's already achieved. 1. Their living room has a simple, welcoming vibe to it.
Step into the Diaz residences and you'll feel right at home just by looking at their charming, little living room. Two couches filled with pillows are ready to receive any guests, with some plants, and a coffee table complementing the space.
Parellel to the living room is a drawer with decorative pieces placed on top of it. One of these is an artfully-made figurine from Francine's ninong Alvin. It depicts a young girl holding up balloons and floating towards her dreams, an undeniable symbol of where the teenage star is now.
2. She has a shelf that displays all of her awards.
Dividing the living room with the rest of the house is a shelf housing all of Francine's awards. We love the alternating pattern the hollow wooden rectangles are arranged by!
The shelf-slash-dividing-wall was actually the idea of Francine's mom, since she didn't know where else to keep her trophies. We're confident that sooner or later, they'll need to build another shelf to display more of the young actress' accolades!
3. They have a family den specifically for movie-watching and bonding.
Right beside the living room is a den where the Diaz family can come together to relax. Francine, her parents and her five other siblings can all comfortably fit in an L-shaped couch as they tune into a flick on their flat screen TV.
4. She has a wall-cabinet for all of her shoes.
Francine's mom also wanted to find a suitable space to keep all of the rising star's shoes. She maximized the space they had and converted the wall beside their movie room TV into a cabinet! A great tip for any tiny home owners out there!
Francine shares that a number of the footwear she owns are actually gifts to her by her stylists or other people she's worked with. We've probably seen her rock them at mall shows or even in endorsement shoots.
5. Their dining room table is an upcycled version of their old one.
A couple steps away from the den is their dining room, where a family-sized table is placed right in the center. Perched above it are four glassware accent lights.
Given that they've only recently redesigned their place, this dining table and its accompanying chairs were just reworked to match the home's fresh ambiance. The chairs were made more comfortable with foam, and the table was elevated with a glossy, mirror finish.
6. They extended their house to accommodate a "dirty kitchen" area.
To make the most out of their property, Francine's family decided to "stretch" the walls of their home to create a kitchen area where they can prepare meals and store food in their refrigerator. Would you believe that, months ago, this space used to just be grass and soil?
7. Wooden accents are present all throughout the home.
Here's a fun fact for you: In Chinese horoscopes, Francine's zodiac sign is the wooden monkey (according to her ninong Alvin). This would most probably explain why natural wooden accents and hues are present in every corner of their home.
Everywhere you look, from the shades of their furniture, to the chosen material for their stairs and dividing walls, earthy tones are present. So chic!
8. They have a homey patio right outside their first floor.
This area is Francine's dad's territory, given that he's a certified plantito! Lush bamboo groves are cultivated by the wall of their lot, and a quaint table with a sun umbrella is set up right by the gate, perfect for taking in the breeze.
