After seven years of no communication, Diego Loyzaga makes peace and reconnects with his father, actor Cesar Montano. In separate posts on Instagram and Twitter, Diego shared that he enjoyed seeing his father after so long. The two also played basketball and took photos together.Â
Additionally, the 26-year-old actor talked about how not seeing your father for seven years is too long for any child to bear, saying, "Seven years is a long time for a son not to see his father. After seven years, after mistakes, God made a way to bring us together again." Together with their selfies, Diego also included baby photos of him with his dad in the post.
Diego also took the opportunity to apologize for the "impulsiveness of my youth" and emphasized the importance of making the most out of your time with your family. The rest of his message reads, "If we could take back the words and the distance and the time wasted, I would. One thing we can do is make up for it. It was so good to see you and play ball with you today. Value your family and loved ones today for tomorrow is not promised. As I mature, the more I wish saying sorry was enough to fix all of the world's problems. Just peace and love and nothing else matters."
In the past years, Diego, the son of Cesar with actress Teresa Loyzaga, has been public about his falling-out with his father. Despite the father-son rift, Diego remained close with his half-siblings Angelina, Sam, and Chesca—Cesar's daughters with actress Sunshine Cruz. To date, the siblings hang out and remain supportive of each other, as seen through their Instagram posts and interactions.
Close friends and family members of Diego left supportive comments under his post. His sister Angelina as well as musician and actor Janno Gibbs, who is the husband of Diego's aunt Bing Loyzaga, left heart emojis.Â
