DBP Implements RISE Scholarship Program For Underprivileged Students In 14 Schools

Among the 14 schools who will benefit from the program is University of the Philippines-Los Baños (UPLB).

The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has rolled out another scholarship program for 14 schools in the Philippines, as featured by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on their Facebook page. The scholarship program is called DBP Resources for Inclusive and Sustainable Education (DBP RISE), and is meant to support financially-challenged students taking up “priority courses” such as Engineering, Information Technology, Medicine, Education, Forestry, Marin Biology, Environmental Sciences, Accountancy, Architecture, and Real Estate Management. Among the 14 schools who will benefit from the program is University of the Philippines-Los Baños (UPLB).

The criteria for students who are qualified to become beneficiaries of the DBP Rise scholarship program include: incoming freshmen or currently enrolled students who are not currently benefiting from an existing scholarship grant, with good moral character and general average of at least 85 percent and no grade below 80 percent on the report card, and belongs to a family with an annual family income that does not exceed P150,000.
