It’s no secret that David Licauco is slowly making a name for himself, especially after his impressive performance in the hit teleserye Maria Clara at Ibarra where he plays Fidel de los Reyes, the swoon-worthy leading man of Barbie Forteza’s character, Klay.
David’s portrayal of Fidel is so *effective* that he managed to make thousands of viewers root for him, but did you know that he wasn’t always confident in his acting? According to a recent interview, he rated his acting skills in his first teleserye with a one out of 10.
“Honestly, throughout the years, may nababasa akong tweets na, 'Ang bano umarte ni David Licauco. Wala akong ma-feel.' Siguro mas magalaw, mas may facial reactions. Dati pag nagre-react nakatingin lang sa mata. Mata-mata acting ako dati eh.”

The constructive criticism made him want to be ~better~, noting that he even watched Can’t Help Falling in Love to study Daniel Padilla’s approach when it comes to acting.
Can't Help Falling In Love. Kinikilig ako sa kanila, fan nila ko. Ginagaya ko [kung paano] niya sabihin.”
You've truly come so far and we're excited for more of your future projects, David!
