Crystal Brosas Comes Out As Lesbian On Mom K Brosas' Vlog
Actress-comedienne K Brosas' latest YouTube upload is a special one. Not only because it was uploaded on her birthday, but also because she had a very special guest—her 22-year-old daughter, recording artist Crystal Brosas.
While it is technically K's special day, Crystal said she was the one who received a gift from her mom. In the video entitled "Birthday ko, at May revelation kami NG anak ko", K and Crystal sat in front of the camera and officially shared to the world that Crystal is proudly lesbian.
K shared in the video that she has known since high school. "Wala akong galit, wala akong buwisit, tinanggap ko," the mom of one shares. However, Crystal also shared that she officially came out to her mom due to an "unexpected chance" when she was in college.
"That time, I cried and she accepted me with open arms. No judgement, no doubts—only unconditional love. And it was one of the best days of my life," Crystal shares in a tweet.
"Ang sexual preference ng anak ko, walang kinalaman sa pagmamahal ko sa kanya," K opens up in the vlog. "I'm so proud and supportive."
Of course, K asked her daughter Crystal whether she was really sure that she wanted to share her news on-cam prior to putting the video up. In the video, the mom and daughter duo wasn't able to resist shedding tears during their touching moment. K shared that she expected people to share unpleasant comments about her daughter coming out, but that her daughter's happiness is more important.
On Twitter, Crystal thanked her mom for the "gift" and shared more about her experience prior to coming out. "There was an inner argument with myself in high school where I told mylsef, 'Is this wrong? Maybe I should try with boys.'
"And at the end, I realized that being gay will never be a choice. You should NEVER force yourself to be straight because being gay is NOT WRONG in the first place."
Crystal has also dabbled in the entertainment industry as a recording artist. In 2018, she released her debut single called "Walang Malay." Since coming out, she vowed to use her voice and her platform to support the LGBTQ+ community.
