Cody Simpson is set to perform in Manila next month but before that happens, make sure you've read everything you have to know about him first. For starters, the Aussie singer has released his fifth EP Free which features the new kind of music he's been working on. Need updating on what he's been up to lately? Here are your answers, Candy Girls!
1 Tell us something about the kind of music you're making now.
"It's an authentic and organic sound that is more me. I feel like it's the first ever record I'm putting out because I finally feel content and comfortable with the sound."
2 How do you feel now that you have more musical control?
"Great! It's the only way I'll be able to show the world who I really am and what I can offer from a musical standpoint."
3 What's your favorite part of working on your new album?
"I collaborated with a great producer named Cisco Adler. I also loved having much more creative control on this record. Being in the studio and just doing whatever I thought made sense helped to achieve a laidback and natural vibe."

4 Which of your songs from your new album is your favorite so far?
"There is something special about each but I enjoy playing 'Thotful' live. The crowd always shows lots of love when I play that jam."
5 What are you most excited to experience on your first time in Manila?
"I love traveling to different countries and experiencing different cultures. Can't wait to meet all my beautiful fans there."
6 How do you wind down after a live performance?
"I actually tend to be alone in my green room with the lights off. I light a few candles and incense as well, listen to music, drink tea, and just unwind."
7 What was the best guy advice you've given your sister Alli?
"Look for someone who is honest, polite, driven and will treat you like you deserved to be treated."
