Here's Where You've Seen YouTuber Ciara Gan Before

She became viral before becoming a full-fledged YouTuber.

The new generation of content creators has a lot of fresh faces to watch for, one of which is Ciara Gan. The 18-year-old content creator has had an eventful year since she started uploading in 2019. She currently has around 189 thousand subscribers on YouTube where she posts about her art, fashion, and her college and personal experiences. 

Before becoming a content creator in the internet, however, Ciara has already made headlines locally and internationally. Curious to know more about this YouTuber? Read on to learn more things about Ciara:

Ciara is studying at Ateneo de Manila University.

She is now on her second year of college at ADMU. Initially, however, Ciara had a hard time during her freshman year which she talked about in a vlog. A few of the struggles Ciara experienced was the transition from high school to college and the need to socialize with other people to make new friends. According to Ciara, it felt like a new and unfamiliar experience for her because she had been with the same section for five years in high school. Still, she shares that there are also a lot of good moments that came out from her first year in university.

Ciara has a sister who is also a YouTuber.

Chances are, you've also seen videos of Ciara's older sister, Bianca Gan, who also makes content on YouTube. They would often collab with each other and appear in videos together. Bianca is two years older and is currently a college student at De La Salle University. They also have another sister named Alyanna.

Ciara used to be the “kikay bunso.”

Ciara shares that she has always been into fashion since she was young. While both she and her sister Bianca are into fashion these days, Ciara was more of the kikay one growing up and would always be down to dress up. She still loves doing so until now, as seen on some her of videos where she dresses up as artworks and famous cartoon characters. She also uploads fashion and try-on hauls as well as DIY thrift flips.

Ciara loves to paint.

Aside from dressing up, Ciara is also into painting and making art in general. She has an Instagram account dedicated to the art she made. Ciara also accepts commissions for her art and shared some tips on how other artists can do so through a video on her channel.

Ciara’s name is often misprounounced.

In case you didn’t know, Ciara’s name is pronounced key-ya-ra but most people would unknowingly make the mistake of pronouncing it differently. The most common mispronounciations are sha-ra, key-ra, and see-ya-ra.

Ciara first went viral for her DIY prom dress.

Before becoming a full-fledged YouTuber, you've probably chanced upon Ciara on the internet after she became viral. Ciara has already made waves online when she shared her experience of designing and painting her own prom dress on YouTube. Since she has always been into fashion and painting is also one of her hobbies, Ciara decided to design her own prom dress instead.

For her prom dress, Ciara sewed the dress with the help of her mom and painted around 80 flowers on it as the design. "My dress tells a very personal story about the things I hold close to my heart--lilies, the color green, painting, and creating new things," shares Ciara. Her story even made it to international media outlets like Buzzfeed, Insider, and Today.
