ICYDK, Charlie Dizon once dreamt of becoming a K-pop idol, and she even had a stint as a K-pop trainee in Korea before her acting career at home took off. Nowadays, she keeps herself busy with her numerous projects and tapings. With the debut of Chantal Videla (aka Chanty) in the Korean girl group Lapillus, the 26-year-old admits she could not be happier for her fellow Pinay.

"Super happy ako na na-launch si Chantal kasi yun din yung dream ko dati and nakita ko yung journey niya kung paano siya pumasok sa K-pop world," she shared during the media launch for Beyond The Stars: Star Magic US Tour.

She added that Chanty turned to her for advice, seeing that she was in the same situation as her a couple of years prior. "As in minessage niya ako before tapos pina-check niya sa akin yung contract na in-offer sa kanya, if ganun ba talaga," she noted.

Now that Chanty has been ~*launched*~ to the world, Charlie admits that she feels like a proud Ate (or unnie, for that matter) to the younger girl. "Ngayon na na-launch na siya, ang saya saya ko. Para akong proud ate kasi ka-batch ko siya nung ni-launch kami ng Star Magic 2018." Aww!

She also shared that MLD Entertainment, the agency that handles Lapillus, also messaged her to ask for help promoting Chanty when she was still a trainee, and she happily agreed.

"Yung MLD, yung company niya, mine-message din ako if I can help na i-promote si Chantal, ganyan. Nung mga times na nilalabas pa lang siya sa mga music video, yung hindi pa siya nilo-launch talaga as K-pop idol," she divulged.

The 26-year-old actress also shared that if she was given a chance to pursue a career in South Korea, she would totally go for it—though she would probably go for acting this time around.

"Siguro ngayon kung bibigyan ako ng chance maging K-pop idol, nahihiya ako kasi hindi ko alam kung kaya ko pa yung training nila kasi sobrang tagal talaga and ang haba ng training."

"Pero if given a chance na ma-launch ako, why not diba? Siguro more of kdrama actress na lang, ganun," she added.

With her acting chops, we would definitely want to see Charlie in a K-drama in the future!
