Fangirl breakout star Charlie Dizon shows no signs of stopping as she claims her spot as one of the actresses to watch from her generation, and more people are starting to notice. Even the Star for All Seasons aka Vilma Santos herself has expressed her admiration for the 25-year-old's acting prowess!
In an interview with host Boy Abunda, Charlie’s co-actress and reel-life mom Dimples Romana opens up about her recent meet-up with Vilma and shared that the actress-turned-politician is all praises with Charlie’s talent.
ICYDK, Dimples and Charlie play mother-daughter tandem on the ABS-CBN series Viral Scandal, which also stars Joshua Garcia and Jake Cuenca.

Dimples went on to discuss her recent encounter with Vilma. With them being close-knit, she asked the actress whether she watches their new series. Vilma replied, “Yes! Aren’t you with ano, si fangirl?”
The iconic actress is, of course, referring to Charlie’s breakout role in a coming-of-age drama she did with award-winning actor Paolo Avelino.
“Sabi ko ‘Opo ‘Nay, si Charlie po!” Dimples continues. “Alam mo sabi ni Tita Vilma? ‘Napakahusay na bata!’ Sabi niya pa, ‘Pinanood ko siya sabihin mo sa kanya ang husay niya, keep going kamo.’”
Needless to say, Charlie was ecstatic when she heard the news. The 25-year-old actress shyly responds, “Thank you po, Ms. Vilma Santos, sobrang thank you po.” She then proceeds to tell Dimples her desire to one day work with Vilma, and that was before she even knew about her supporting their TV series.
It looks like the Star for All Seasons isn’t the only one impressed by the young actress though.
When asked how she would describe Charlie, Dimples replies, “Effortless! That’s the term, Tito Boy, and you just know that there’s so much brilliance inside of her. And you know, the most beautiful thing about watching Charlie grow into the woman that she is now is that she has no idea just how brilliant she is.”
She also praised Charlie for being down-to-earth despite all her success. “She has no ere, Tito Boy. No star feeling, wala. Kinausap niya yung crew [and] yung boss the same way. How admirable to see a best actress be this way at a very young age. Beautiful, Tito Boy!”
