Once upon a time, these celebrities were once considered Iskolar ng Bayan. If you're currently attending UP, you can say that these stars were just like you, pulling all-nighters and trying to get by every semester. Curious about what they were like as UP students? Here are 11 famous UP Fighting Maroons:Â Â
Richard Juan
The PBB alum and model went to UP Diliman where he graduated cum laude with a degree in Communications.
Just like Richard, Myrtle is a PBB and UP Diliman alum. She initially took up Political Science and then Accountancy, before settling with Broadcast Communication and eventually graduating cum laude from UP.Â
Beauty queen Venus Raj may not have completed her undergraduate studies at UP (she did so at Bicol University with a degree in Communication Arts), but she did earn her master's degree in Community Development as an Iskolar ng Bayan.
Fellow beauty queen Shamcey was quite a studious one, and admits that she's a bit grade conscious. She not only graduated magna cum laude from UP Diliman but was also the topnotcher of the 2010 Architecture Licensure Examination.Â
News anchor Gretchen Fullido was a working student who went to UP Diliman. She had already been working for ABS-CBN even while still enrolled in college. She was a Film and Audiovisual Communication major.
While he is mostly known for brainy fun facts about basically anything under the sun, Kuya Kim has a creative side to him, too. Here's a fun fact for you: He was a film student at UP Diliman during his college days.
Unlike Kuya Kim, Direk Tonette ended up pursuing a career in filmmaking but she did so by shifting to her preferred course. The director initially took up Broadcast Communications but decided to major in Film instead. Â
