There's no denying that the local showbiz scene is brimming with talent. But on top of their admirable acting and performing skills, some of today's brightest stars are also hard at work in school. Several next-generation celebrities are pursuing academic tracks that are different from their showbiz background, like these stars who chose to pursue the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) strand in senior high school.
The ABM strand is one of the academic strands students can take in SHS, and it's mainly focused on teaching students the fundamental principles related to business, finance, and other related fields. It's not exactly an easy track (TBH, every strand has its own set of challenges!), especially since these star students also have their career responsibilities to attend to.
In case you're curious, here are six young celebrities who chose the ABM strand:
Cassy and Mavy Legaspi
Celebrity twins Cassy and Mavy Legaspi are both graduates of the ABM strand in high school. They both attended Reedley International School and are now pursuing business-related courses in college.
Actress Francine Diaz is currently taking the ABM strand at Southville International School Affiliated with Foreign Universities (SISFU). She is also one of her school's celebrity ambassadors.
Up-and-coming singer-songwriter KD Estrada, who is currently a Pinoy Big Brother housemate, recently graduated from Meridiant International (MINT) College under the ABM track.
PBB alum and actress Karina Bautista graduated under the ABM strand from University of La Salette in her hometown, Santiago City, Isabela.
Singer Angelina Cruz is a also a graduate of the ABM track. She went to De La Salle Santiago Zobel for high school and is currently attending college at De La Salle University as a Marketing Management major. As a college student, Angelina is a consistent Dean's Lister!
