Ever felt sad over a breakup even though you weren't actually part of that relationship? Every fan of a celebrity couple or love team that eventually parted ways can relate. Some of our favorite celebrity pairings have split over the years, and although fans remain supportive of both parties, the news of their breakups have also left them slightly heartbroken.
Here, we round up celebrity couples whose breakups also broke fans' hearts:
Nadine Lustre and James Reid
JaDine hearts broke when they learned of James and Nadine's eventual breakup. But it's good to know that they ended their relationship on good terms and have remained friends and workmates—ICYDK, Nadine is still signed under Careless, the record label founded by James.
Lou Yanong and Andre Brouillette
PBB couple Lou Yanong and Andre Brouillette rose above all the criticisms after their PBB stay. They made fans kilig with their love story even after their exit, which is why it was extra heartbreaking for them when they announced their split. They continue to remain friends, though, and have remained supportive of each other's careers and endeavors.
Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo
The Song-Song couple were quite an iconic pairing, thanks to the chemistry they shared in the K-drama Descendants of the Sun. Fans were deeply sad when the two announced their divorce in 2019, 20 months into their marriage. The reason cited for the divorce was "differences in personalities."
Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk
The NamLee tandem was a fan-favorite K-drama couple. The onscreen couple in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo eventually became real in 2017. Shortly after, the two parted ways, breaking NamLee hearts in the process. The couple was so loved that rumors of them possibly getting back together in 2021 excited fans. The rumors, however, were never addressed, but fans continue to hope for the best for these two!
Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse
Reel-to-real Riverdale couple Lili and Cole have been on fans' minds ever since the show started. Even though rumors about Bughead turning into Sprousehart have started as early as 2017, the confirmation of their relationship didn't happen until 2018, when they were spotted sharing a kiss in Paris. In 2020, however, the couple eventually broke up. Cole himself clarified the issue in an Instagram post, saying, "Lili and I initially separated in January of this year, deciding to more permanently split in March. What an incredible experience I had, I’ll always feel lucky and cherish that I had the chance to fall in love."
