Catriona Gray has been making headlines lately, and unfortunately, it's not all because of all the advocacies she's supporting. The 2018 Miss Universe paid a visit to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)'s office in Manila on July 22, 2020 to file a report about a fake nude photo of her that is circulating online.
Catriona's legal counsel, Atty. Joji Alonso, already clarified that the photo in question is "fake and digitally altered." Catriona also made it clear that they will be taking legal actions against the perpetrator and advised the public to be "discerning and critical" of what they encounter on social media.
NBI deputy chief Vicente de Guzman guarantees that the person who leaked and circulated the photos will be caught and held accountable. He says, "The reason why the NBI will be conducting an investigation is to determine the persons accountable for this posting in the social media. Kahit sino tamaan niyan, icha-charge namin."
On the same day, the beauty queen was appointed as an ambassador for the "One Town, One Product" program of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). She will be working with the government to promote local textiles and encourage entrepreneurship among local designers and weavers.
