Hands up if you’ve been avidly waiting for BTS V's second acting gig after he appeared in the 2016 K-drama Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth alongside Park Hyung Sik, Go Ara, Choi Min Ho, and his BFF Park Seo Joon. It looks like V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, *almost* appeared in another K-drama this year!
When a fan posted on the fan community platform Weverse about hoping to see Taehyung in the new drama Itaewon Class, he replied and revealed that he almost made a cameo in the show after he visited his actor-friend Park Seo Joon on set, who plays the lead character Park Sae Ro Yi. According to this fan translation of his message, Taehyung said, "I almost did when they did the Halloween shooting. Three of us including myself were going to tell the director to film us with masks on, but Yong Gyu [Seo Joon's real name] said we couldn't."
While fans are open to the prospect of seeing the two friends together on-screen for the second time, it looks like we'll have to wait before we get to see Taehyung's acting chops again!
Itaewon Class is a 2020 K-drama adaptation of a webcomic of the same name and stars Park Seo Joon, Kim Da Mi, Kim Dong Hee, and Kwon Na Ra. The K-drama is now available for streaming on Netflix. Check out the trailer here:
Prior to Itaewon Class, Park Seo Joon starred in the 2018 show What's Wrong With Secretary Kim? where he co-starred with Park Min Young.
Meanwhile, Kim Taehyung and the Korean music group BTS are preparing for a much-awaited comeback with their upcoming studio album Map of the Soul: 7, slated for release on February 21, 2020. They are also set to go on a world tour beginning in April 2020.
