GMA-7 actress Bianca Umali and ABS-CBN actor Sam Concepcion are set to top-bill the third season of the international series titled Halfworlds.
Halfworlds, a dark fantasy thriller series involving demons from Asian folklore, is an original series produced by HBO Asia. Its first two seasons were shot and set in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The first season ran from November 2015 to January 2016, while the second season ran from January to February 2017.
For its third season, Halfworlds will be entirely shot in the Philippines. It will be directed by Mikhail Red, who helmed movies such as Eerie and Dead Kids.
Bianca and Direk Mikhail attended the announcement of the third season earlier today, November 29, 2019, in Singapore.
According to the Instagram post of @kapusoprgirl, Bianca will play the role of Alex, a half-human and half-Engkanto seeking to find the original source of a dwindling haven plant that will heal the Engkantos’ thirst for human flesh.
The third season of Halfworlds is co-produced by HBO Asia and Cignal Entertainment.
Bianca also underwent training for her role as Alex, as seen in the photos posted by @kapusoprgirl.
HBO Asia has yet to announce when production for Halfworlds will commence.
