Quick refresher: It’s been about two months since Barbie Imperial confirmed her breakup with Diego Loyzaga. They both confirmed that they ended the relationship on good terms, but they never really discussed the real reason behind their split.
Barbie finally addressed all unanswered questions in her recent interview with Toni Gonzaga on March 3. Although Barbie already considered Diego as her endgame, the two called off their already-fragile relationship because they weren’t willing to risk their friendship.
Pero nagulo talaga yung relasyon namin,” Barbie said.
“Siguro doon kasi too much din yung exposure namin sa mga tao. Para sa’kin kasi minsan 'pag sobrang alam na ng lahat ng tao yung about sa personal na buhay niyo, parang kaya na rin nilang sirain ‘pag in-allow mo silang makapasok doon sa world niyong dalawang couple,” Barbie recounted, explaining that she and Diego re-evaluated their relationship when he got back from the States.
“Siguro for us, ganoon namin ka-love yung isa’t isa na hindi muna namin ita-try.
Kumbaga for me, if sa second time i-allow ko 'yun and hindi ako happy doon, magtutuloy-tuloy siya,” she concluded.
Barbie also said that she’s happier now that she’s single because she can focus on her work and family.
Recently, Barbie starred in iWantTFC’s original series The Goodbye Girl as Kiera. Meanwhile, Diego is set to star in horror movie Greed alongside Nadine Lustre.
