Content creator and Miss Universe Philippines 2021 delegate Ayn Bernos makes a statement about a comment targeted towards her saying that she must have had a "mental health problem for even thinking I stand against taller, smarter, and more beautiful women."

Ayn originally shared that the reason why she wanted to join Miss Universe Philippines is because it has always been her dream, and when MUP ditched the height requirement for aspiring delegates, Ayn "dropped everything" and sent her application immediately. Since being accepted into the Top 100 aspiring beauty queens, the content creator and founder of Morena the Label has been wowing the public. Most notably, Ayn ended up as the top 2 delegate for the headshot challenge and the video intro challenge, and top 4 for the runway challenge.

But it seems some people are throwing so much hate against Ayn that she had to speak up and clarify her intentions of joining the pageant. On Instagram, Ayn posted a series of photos to recount the highlights of her week, the last of which was a statement standing up against a comment who said that she had a "mental health problem" for joining MUP.

"Someone commented that I must have a mental health problem for even thinking I stand against taller, smarter, and more beautiful women," Ayn starts.

She went on to explain that she joined Miss Universe to represent girls like her who believe they don't meet the kind of "beauty standards" pageants are known for establishing. "I did not join Miss Universe because I believed I was the beauty standard. I joined it because I KNOW I'm not, and it's about time girls like me are allowed to try, too."

"Every time I start doubting myself, I always go back to my purpose: I needed someone like me on stage when I was younger. I did not feel represented. So now that I can do it for the next generation?—why wait?" she adds.

To end her statement, Ayn also thanked those who understood her purpose and continued to support her. Fellow MUP 2021 delegate Maureen Wroblewitz commented on Ayn's post to express support. Her comment reads, "You are an inspiration to so many!!! Don‘t listen to those negative people." Even Miss Grand Philippines 2020 Samantha Bernardo left a brief comment to express her support for Ayn.
