These Anime-Style Illustrations Of ADMU's Campus Will Make You Miss School

At this point, we’re about a month and a half into quarantine. One can’t help but reminisce about the old days when we would rush through the hallways of school just to get to our next class. O ‘di kaya tumambay sa designated hangout spot ng barkada sa loob ng campus. Nakaka-miss! For now, students will just have to scroll through whatever photos they were able to take inside their beloved campus.Â
For ADMU students though, one artist’s illustrations might make you feel extra senti. A 27-year-old digital illustrator, Erich Bryan Vicerra, drew some of the buildings inside ADMU’s campus and they look like they came straight out of your favorite anime series!

In an interview over Facebook Messenger, Erich explains that these were inspired by Makoto Shinkai's works. "I really admire how he uses real-life locations and paints them in anime-style while adding his own touch to it. It was something I really wanted to do way back before I even had proper art education."
Erich also shares that the artwork took around 40 to 60 hours to make! "It largely depends on whether, early on in the process, I already have a clear picture of the end product or how I want it to look like. Sometimes I'm prone to changing and redoing parts of the illustration halfway through when I'm not satisfied, in which case it takes longer to finish."
