In a new video posted on Mother's Day, Angelica Jane Yap, a YouTuber who later on became known as Pastillas Girl, sat down with her siblings CJ and James to talk about their late mother and how they felt after losing her.

Angelica Jane Yap's mother

In 2015, Angelica's mother Teresa Hernandez was shot dead while eating out at a restaurant with Angelica's younger sister. She worked as a Kagawad in a barangay in Caloocan City. In the video, the three siblings took turns answering various questions about their mom and looked back on fond memories with her. "Sinasabi niya, 'wala na tayong pera,' tapos biglang may mangungutang bigla. May pera!" CJ explains.

The video also took a serious turn when they reminisced about the day of the incident. They also shared how they purposedly did not tell their bunso, James, about what happened to their mother right away, expecting that he would be devastated over it. "Kasi nga, kami we got to say goodbye to her, tapos ikaw naabutan mo siya, patay na. Sorry."

How the Yap siblings reacted to the news

Angelica also shared that she heard of the news while she was in the middle of a shoot. Thankfully, she was allowed to leave early to rush to the hospital. Willing ako na, gawin niyo lahat, kahit na ibenta na lahat," Angelica says, hoping to find a way to save her mom regardless of how much money it will take. Unfortunately, her mother was declared braindead at that point, and the doctors explained to the family that the rest of her body will shut down soon.

The siblings also opened up about whether or not revenge ever entered their minds. For CJ, who saw firsthand what happened to her mom, revenge didn't seem like a good response to the situation.

For James and Angelica, it wasn't about getting revenge, but more about getting justice. Angelica explains how she made several trips to the NBI to seek justice for her mother and family, until she slowly lost hope and gave up.

On moving on from their mother's death

For CJ, she's already forgiven the perpetrators. Same goes for James, even though he would sometimes still wonder what it would be like if her mother was here.

For Angelica, regardless of how much time passes or how much progress she makes in moving on, the pain of losing her mother will always feel as intense as the first time. If there was one thing she can say to her mom right now, Angelica would say, "I got you, mom. I got you, guys."
