Andrea Brillantes may only be 20 years old, but she has been making waves in the entertainment industry for more than a decade now, landing her very first lead role at the tender age of 10. Now with a *flourishing* career under her belt, the actress admits that she has her sights set on a different kind of achievement: independence.
“Madami akong goal na gusto i-achieve para sa akin. Gusto kong matutong maging mas independent, like matulog mag-isa muna,” she says, revealing that she can’t sleep alone because she grew up with her brothers and sisters by her side.
“Lumaki ako na kasama ko lagi yung brothers and sisters ko na iisang kwarto lang kami, nung isa pa lang yung kaya kong ma-afford na lagyan ng aircon kaya lahat kami siksikan lang sa kwarto. Ngayon, gusto kong matutunan mag-drive, makatulog mag-isa, tapos maging independent, at makabili ng property for myself.”
However, the actress admits that she has been ~*slowly*~ establishing her independence. In fact, she recently embarked on *exciting* adventures, traveling to Siargao with her friends and exploring Spain!
“Masaya ako na meron akong ganung klaseng freedom ngayon. Tingin ko I earned it din naman na. Para sa family ko din, very thankful ako na hinahayaan nila ako. Kasi alam din nila yung weight ng pagiging breadwinner ko at the age of 10. Kaya never sila talaga super strict sa akin,” she says.
Andrea also thanked her BF Ricci Rivero for being a *supportive* boyfie.
“Salamat kay [Ricci] na gets na niya din na bata ako nagtrabaho tapos galing ako sa relationship so he wasn’t strict sa akin. Gusto niya din maranasan ko yung life, makapag-Siargao, makapag-party, magawa ito, masuot ito. So thankful din ako sa kanya na hindi siya yung strict na partner. Hindi siya yung nakakulong ka.” Awww!
