Alessandra De Rossi's directorial debut My Amanda is still number one on Netflix Philippines, and not only did she direct + star in it, she also wrote the script herself! During her 2020 guesting on the online show Tick Talk, Alessandra talked about some *struggles* she encountered while writing the film's script, which at that time had the working title Fuffy And Fream.
"Nakakapagod pala magsulat," she told Tick Talk's Myrza Sison. "I don't know...ang sarap din magbigay ng work sa friends. So ikukuwento mo na lang sa kanila, yung those people na really know how to write, like they know where to put the climax, how to prepare you for this scene, yung ganoon. Hindi nga ako ganoon kasi I'm very very raw e."
"Like yung Fuffy And Fream, dire-diretso 'yon, hanggang ending...hindi ko alam kung ano yung ending niya. Yung parang ako...bahala na. Parang ganoon siya, hindi like Through Night And Day na alam ko na mangyayari from start to finish."
Alessandra added that because the dialogue for the movie flowed so naturally, one scene would sometimes reach seven pages. She said her friends who have been writers for a long time would advise her to make changes to the script, and she would sometimes react with: "Edi kayo na magsulat." LOL, ALEX!
