Many of our favorite Filipino talents have proudly represented the Philippines in the international scene, but some of them actually have ties to other countries as well. Even though many of them have 100 percent Filipino blood, some were born and raised abroad. Still, they carry the PH flag and rep the country whenever they get to showcase their talents elsewhere.Â
Below, a list of Pinoy celebrities who were born abroad:Â
1. Liza Soberano
Actress Liza Soberano was born in Santa Clara, California in the United States to an American mom and a Pinoy dad. According to PEP.ph, Liza moved to the Philippines with her dad when she was 10 years old after her parents separated.Â
2. Kira Balinger
Kira is half-Filipino, half-British, but she is born in Hong Kong. She did, however, spend her childhood in the UK before moving to the Philippines in 2010. When she was 14 years old, Kira was scouted by a talent manager in a mall.
3. Joao Constancia
You might be familiar with BoybandPH member and actor Joao Constancia from the movie Four Sisters Before the Wedding. ICYDK, Joao is actually born and raised in Macau and his name Joao is actually Portuguese!
4. Mika Dela Cruz
Born Mariko Nicolette, former Goin' Bulilit star Mika Dela Cruz is actually born in Tokyo, Japan. She only learned how to speak Filipino when she moved to the Philippines.
5. Darren Espanto
Filipino singer Darren Espanto first broke into the scene when he joined The Voice Kids under Coach Sarah Geronimo's team. Darren was born in Calgary in Canada.

PBB star Jameson Blake is half-Filipino, half-British. He was born in Hong Kong where he lived for 10 years before moving to the Philippines.
7. Jessy Mendiola
Jessy Mendiola has headlined several teleseryes, including Sabel and Maria Mercedes. ICYDK, Jessy was born in Dubai to a Filipino mom and a Lebanese dad.
