One of our favorite seasons is finally here, Candy Girls! The awards season officially began last week with the People's Choice Awards. This week, the Golden Globe Awards recognized the best performances of the past year both on television and in movies. Some of the brightest stars gathered earlier today at The Beverly Hilton in an awards show hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). Missed what went on at the event earlier? Here are seven moments you shouldn't miss reading about.

  1. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's opening monologue. This funny duo hosted the Golden Globes for the third time now, and delivered fun times we'll definitely remember. During their opening monologue, Tina and Amy poked fun at Cecille B. DeMille honoree George Clooney and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, Emma Stone's big eyes, and many more. Watch a snippet of their monologue over here.

  2. Lena Dunham's views on Twitter. The author and TV star revealed to Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet that she deleted the Twitter app on her phone recently. Her reason? "I'm trying to create a safer place for myself emotionally." She explained further that she's been getting a lot of hate tweets, so she deleted it. Makes sense, right? You go, Lena!

  3. Benedict Cumberbatch photobombed Meryl Streep. Oh nothing really, just Benedict doing what he does best. The Imitation Game actor jumped in the background during Meryl and Margaret Cho's photo-taking sesh.

  5. George Clooney's acceptance speech. The dashing actor is this year's recipient for the Cecil B. DeMille Award. In his speech, George thanked his wife and spoke about the recent Charlie Hebdo shooting which shook the whole world when French satirical cartoonists were killed for their Muhammad cartoons.

  6. Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig should host the Golden Globes next year. Stars of the critically-acclaimed film, Skeleton Twins, did a few impersonations when they presented the award for the Best Screenplay earlier—proving, in the process, that they should host Golden Globe Awards 2016. Watch their hilarious moment below now.

  7. The winners. Of course, congratulations to this year's biggest winners! How To Train Your Dragon 2 won Best Animated Feature Film. Richard Linklater was named Best Director for Boyhood while the film won Best Motion Picture, Drama. The Grand Budapest Hotel was named this year's Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy. And Eddie Redmayne received Best Actor, Motion Picture Drama for playing Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. Take a look at the whole list of winners over here.
