There is nothing like starting the year with so much inspiration, so that's what we're giving you this month, Candy Girls. If you're feeling uninspired or are just in need of a good dose of encouragement to go after your dreams this year, then this is your lucky day. We have rounded up five movies about famous individuals for you to draw inspiration from. Happy watching!

  1. Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. Based on the life of South African revolutionary and former President Nelson Mandela, this film will move you to dream big dreams and go after what you truly want. It wasn't an easy task for the late president to fight for his country's freedom, but he did it anyway, never allowing his doubts and fears to get in the way.

  2. The Theory of Everything. If you're feeling hopeless because your dreams seem too big for you, then you need to watch this film about theoretical physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking. Even if he suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) that rendered him paralyzed for most of his life, he never allowed it to hinder him from doing what he loved—learning about the world.

  3. Anne Frank: The Whole Story. This movie about the life of Anne Frank who died during the World War II may sound depressing at first, but when you get into the heart of her life, you'd realize that there's so much beauty and wonder that this world holds for everyone who lives in it.

Barrie will make you notice all the little things around you and how this world is swarming with sources of positive thoughts that are just waiting to get noticed. Look around and you might soon find an idea for your next project.

  5. Jobs. Thought that Apple computers was easy to put up and begin with? This film about Steve Jobs will make you think otherwise. Watch this so you get reminded that it takes a few tries before you finally get it right, and that even if you do, challenges will always be on your way and you just have to remind yourself then to never stop trying.
