He's very excited to be here in the Philippines saying he is blown away by the support he is getting from Filipino fans. When asked if he would consider a career here in the Philippines, he gamely says he definitely wants to. We're looking forward to that so we're keeping our eyes open for this cutie.

At first glance, you would be noticing the basics about Colton Dixon from his beaming eyes, the way he speaks and his laidback attitude but this Batman-loving rocker is more than what he is at first glance. Here are 5 things we found out about Colton Dixon.

  1. If he weren't a performer, he'd be a pastor.
Colton Dixon had been making waves with his music after American Idol with "Never Gone" heading straight to #1 on the iTunes Christian and Gospel singles chart in its first week but when asked what he would be if he weren't a singer, he said he wanted to be a pastor This does not come as a surprise since he came from a Christian family and grew up listening to Christian music.
  2. He is generous with compliments.
During the press conference, he would spontaneously dish out compliments about anything he finds interesting. He says everything likes he means it, notices the little things, and does not shy away from eye contact. Now, before you die from kilig feels imagining that, always remember that this is a sign that a guy is pretty comfortable with who he is. If being able to sincerely give out compliments is not a sign of the right balance between humility and confidence, then I don't know what is.
  3. He's unapologetic about who he is.
He says the biggest thing he learned in American Idol is to always be true to himself. He says that if he feels convicted to say something, he will just like how he puts in his song "This Is Who I Am." Proof? He charmingly admits he can not watch a chick flick without crying.
  4. He joined Jessica Sanchez in her Big Dome Valentine concert.
Colton Dixon sang last February 14 with Jessica Sanchez on her Valentine concert in Smart Araneta Coliseum. Did you listen to him sing songs that made you swoon during his stint in American Idol like "Love The Way You Lie" and "Piano Man"? Single or not, Valentine's day will definitely be a blast when you hear him sing live. I hope you got tickets because he promises that it will be a party.
  5. He just released an album titled A Messenger last January 29, 2013.
If you weren’t able to catch him in the concert or one of his meet-and-greet, take a part of him home (in a non-stalker kind of way) with you by grabbing his album A Messenger. The album’s title is inspired by the bible verse he lives by, John 15:16 so you can expect an inspiring album that does not only talk about faith but something we can all relate to- hardships. Give this album a spin and you will definitely want to stand up and move forward. He wrote 12 out 13 songs in the record after being shockingly eliminated after American Idol with You Are which he wrote together with a friend who was going through a hard time and Scars which was inspired by fans who sent him stories of their hardships and faith.

Listen to his music and share which songs moved you below.
