- 1989 is the biggest-selling album released in 2014.
- It is also the 2nd largest-selling album of 2014, following the soundtrack of Frozen.
- It also holds the record for largest sales in one week since Eminem's The Eminem Show in 2002.
As a thank you, the singer posted this video message on her Instagram. Congratulations, Taylor!

Remember #AlexFromTarget? Alex appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier today and talked about how weird the whole situation was for him. Watch it here. That's how famous he is! But before his TV appearance, there's a bit of controversy. Breakr (a company with the tagline "helping connect fans to their fandom") said that #AlexFromTarget is just a social media experiment—even saying that Abbie (@Ausculum), the first person to tweet about it, Alex himself, and Target worked on this with them. Target spoke up about this and made it clear that this wasn't some sort of marketing strategy or even a social media experiment.
