5 Things You Missed Today (April 7)
Good news for fans of Pinoy figure skater Michael Christian Martinez! The 17-year-old finished with a gold medal in the senior men's division during the Triglav Trophy International Figure Skating Tournament in Slovenia. Following him were contenders from Japan: Keiji Tanaka and Ryuju Hino. Michael hasn't completely healed from the injuries he got during the Winter Olympics, so he wasn't expecting to earn a gold medal. "I thank God for this blessing—another gold medal in senior event," he said in his Facebook account, "It was actually difficult for all of us because the 30 minutes practice sessions were scheduled a day before, and no more practices during the competition days. I'm very happy I made it to first place." Congratulations, Michael!
Missed Nick Jonas? The youngest Jo Bro was recently spotted playing golf with some friends and sports legend Michael Jordan during the 2014 Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational in Las Vegas. Lucky guy! We wonder how he fared.
First round of the Michael Jordan foundation golf tournament was awesome. Dream come true today to meet Michael. What a legend.— Nick Jonas (@nickjonas) April 6, 2014
Cody Simpson shared some BTS photos from the music video of "Surfboard," which will be out soon. For this vid, he's working with his girlfriend and model Gigi Hadid. Cue: Sighs. Don't they look adorable together? We can't wait for Cody's music video to come out!
We loved them from The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates. Now Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore are set to prove that they are one of romcom's unbeatable couples in their new movie Blended. So, what happens when a blind date between two single parents goes wrong and they're stuck with each other in a fieldtrip in Africa with their kids? That can be disastrous, but it can be romantic too. Watch the movie's newest trailer below! Blended is set to hit theaters on June 11.
The biggest names in country music gathered earlier in Las Vegas for the 2014 Academy of Country Music Awards. Hosted by Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan, the show recognized the musicians who have made huge contributions to the music genre. The biggest winner of the night is Miranda Lambert (who you might remember from Nashville Stars and as Blake's better half). She won the awards for Vocal Event of the Year, Single Record of the Year, and Female Vocalist of the Year. Want the complete list of winners? Read it over here.
