People say that after a breakup, you need to stay in bed and let your feelings out first. That's why there are a ton of people who also recommend breakup and sob movies for moments like that. But what if that's not what you need?

Believe it or not, there are new single girls out there who don't want to spend their nights crying their eyes and hearts out to movies like 500 Days of Summer or The Breakup. Instead, what they play on their laptops are movies that make them feel more empowered or make them feel better for choosing what's going to make them happier in the long run. And for that, we've prepared the movies you need, Candy Girls. Below, five movies you can watch that are guaranteed not to make you sad. Enjoy!

  1. How to Be Single (2016)

What it will remind you of: That being single isn't so bad if you make the most out of it, so stop seeing it as a boring phase of your life because it's not. Do whatever it is that you've always wanted to do and learn to be comfortable with the idea of being on your own.

  1. Sisters (2016)

What it will remind you of: Life isn't supposed to be perfect. It's supposed to be lived well and with the people you love and those who truly love you. Find the ones who will always have your back and run to them when life feels unbearable.

  1. Gone Girl (2015)

What it will remind you of: You have to fight for what you want—but we're not telling you to go around and murder the ones who hurt you, okay? When you know there's nothing in the relationship that's helping you grow to be a better person anymore, leave it and let go.

  1. Sex and the City (2008)

What it will remind you of: That friends are forever. They will get you through bad times and the worst times, believe it or not. Their words may sometimes feel harsh, especially when you're nursing a broken heart, but know that they have nothing but your best interests at heart.

  1. The Other Woman (2014)

What it will remind you of: You'll meet friends in the most unlikely places if only you're open to the possibilities. Learn not to judge people too quickly and listen to their stories because you'll surely learn a thing or two from them, too.
