The Emmy Awards recognizes excellence in the television industry. Think: It's like the Oscars, but for TV. Not sure if your favorite TV shows and TV stars made it to the list of nominees? Here are a few of them who were nominated this year:

The Big Bang Theory. Were you suprised about this? We, honestly, weren't and here's hoping it's for a good reason. After all, this is Jim Parsons 6th(!) nomination!

Modern Family. Just look at all these nominations. Although the nominees for supporting actors from the show were cut down to 3, it's still not a bad year for our fave TV family. As Phil Dunphy put it, "Well played, my lord!"
