  1. The Boxtrolls (opens October 1). Don't judge a troll by its cover—these oddballs are the most loyal and resourceful bunch you’ll ever meet. They've even raised a human as one of their own, an abandoned orphan named they named *drum roll please* Eggs. Elle Fanning and Isaac Hempstead Wright lend their voices to this animated movie.

  2. Foosball: The Unbeatables (October 1). This animated movie stars Harry Potter's Rupert Grint as the voice of a "shy table soccer genius" who gets by with a little help from his foosball figurines that come to life. (Weasley is our king!)

  3. Dolphin Tale 2 (opens October 8). Winter’s surrogate mom, Panama, passes away, leaving her curled up in a ball of angst (in her dolphin way). A new dolphin named Hope arrives to, well, hopefully save the day. (Hey, that rhymed!)

  4. Dracula Untold (opens October 15). The origin story of the legendary immortal involves a despicable demon, a deal with the devil, and the ultimate sacrifice. Game of Thrones fans will be thrilled to see (and find the parallelism of having) Art Parkinson (Rickon Stark) as Vlad’s son, and Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister) as the demon.

  6. The Book of Life (opens October 16). The fantastical movie is a feast for the eyes and the soul. You can even get some Halloween costume ideas from it!

  7. Grace (premieres October 17, 10 pm on HBO). Speaking of Halloween, bring on the fear factor with this new mini series about a father who condemns his family to "unspeakable horror." *chills*

  8. The Best of Me (opens October 22). A tale of first love and second chances from the man behind The Notebook and A Walk to Remember. If you're wondering why the actors in the trailer look familiar, that’s because they’ve all dabbled in rom-com/drama films: James Marsden in 27 Dresses and Enchanted, Michelle Monaghan in Made of Honor, Liana Liberato in If I Stay and Stuck in Love, and Luke Bracey in Monte Carlo.

  9. Paranormal Island (opens October 22). The fifth Paranormal Activity has been moved to next year, so in the meantime, you can fill your thirst for the creepy with this horror movie starring Step Up's Briana Evigan.

  10. Life After Beth (now on DVD). What’s worse than an ex who won’t let go? An undead ex. What’s better than a clingy zombie ex? When that clingy zombie ex is Aubrey Plaza. Also starring The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s Dane DeHaan.
