If you’ve watched the Netflix K-drama Nevertheless, chances are you’ve been captivated by the side couples. Yun Sol and Seo Ji Wan, the friends of Yu Na Bi, rose to popularity for being the only same-sex couple in the series. We find ourselves looking forward to their scenes, too (admit it, the side couples made the watching experience more fulfilling).

Still feeling that kilig from Sol and Ji Wan? Here are other memorable WLW (it means women-loving-women, ICYDK!) couples from series and movies who also made us feel butterflies in our stomach. Fair warning: this list contains *minor* spoilers.

10 Memorable Onscreen WLW Couples

1. Kelly and Yorkie from Black Mirror: “San Junipero”

Who they are: Yorkie is an awkward young woman who meets the fun-loving Kelly in a beach town called San Junipero. Black Mirror is known for being depressing, but we swear this will leave you smiling.

Where you can watch the series: Netflix

2. Dani and Jamie from The Haunting of Bly Manor

Who they are: Dani is a young American teacher who moves into the Bly Manor to work as the new au pair/governess, and she eventually falls for a spunky gardener at the manor named Jamie.

3. Billie and Emma from Billie and Emma

Who they are: Billie is a transfer student from the city who is instantly branded as the outcast in an all-girls Catholic school, while Emma is the top student well-liked by everyone. This is probably the queer coming-of-age film you’ve been looking for.

4. Lady Hideko and Sook Hee from The Handmaiden

Who they are: Sook Hee is employed as a handmaiden by a con man to take Lady Hideko’s large sum of inheritance money. Things go awry when someone falls in love.

Where you can watch the movie: Amazon Prime, Google Play

5. Eve and Villanelle from Killing Eve

Who they are: Eve is a spy tasked to be part of the team tracking down a female assassin, Villanelle. What does their relationship have a lot of? Angst.

Where you can watch it: Hulu

6. Rue and Jules from Euphoria

Who they are: Rue is a teenager fresh out of rehabilitation who finds herself drawn to Jules, the new girl (with a very manic pixie dream girl aura) in town. There’s a lot of mental and emotional baggage in this onedon’t say we didn’t warn you!

Where you can watch it: HBO Max

7. Adora and Catra from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power

Who they are: Adora and Catra are childhood friends who grow apart because of differences in their goals, but they eventually come to terms with how they truly feel for each other.

Where you can watch it: Netflix

8. Emily Dickinson and Sue Gilbert from Dickinson

Who they are: Emily Dickinson and Sue Gilbert seem to be really good friends to everyone else, but that’s obviously not true. In Dickinson, it’s not just their love story that is explored; it gives us so much more than the Emily Dickinson we knew from our literature classes.

Where you can watch it: Apple TV+

9. Han Su Yeon and Park Eun Bin from Seonam Girls’ High School Investigators

Who they are: Su Yeon and Eun Bin are high school girlfriends who live in fear of discrimination in this drama about a group of high school girls who try to solve mysterious occurrences and student problems at the school. Did you know? They also gave us the first lesbian kissing scene in K-drama history!

Where you can watch it: Viki

10. Princess Bubblegum and Marceline from Adventure Time

Who they are: Princess Bubblegum is the ruler of the Candy Kingdom, while Marceline is the hailed Vampire Queen who’s at least a thousand years old. They start off on the wrong foot, but the development of their love story is one of the most satisfying in this list.
